At Bridebook we're looking for a Data Scientist to join our team.

As a Data Scientist for Bridebook, you will be responsible for driving insights across the business through understanding our data and will be a key part of our growth. You will be core to our mission of becoming an iconic global brand, making the wedding planning journey as fun as possible for engaged couples everywhere.

About us

Bridebook is a revolutionary wedding planning platform that seeks to make wedding planning an enjoyable, intuitive, and rewarding experience for couples, guests, and industry partners. Launched in the UK, Bridebook has over 1,000,000 planning couples and has been featured in major outlets such as the New York Times, the BBC, and the App Store. After six years and many iterations later, we have 2 in 3 engaged UK couples and 1 in 3 engaged German couples using Bridebook, and have recently expanded into the French market. While we serve a very emotional and creative industry, we are obsessed with using tech and data to revolutionise the industry. What you will do 

  • Apply your data analysis skills and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core business products.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with our International and Expansion team to develop and improve directories in all international target markets.
  • Build detailed reports to provide a deep understanding of our data across senior leadership and other teams.
  • Work on improving the data infrastructure setup, ensuring efficiency and consistency of our data. You'll primarily be working with GCP and BigQuery, automating analyses via SQL and python.
  • Develop and own relevant analytics processes to help build a self-serve BI culture and keep the company data-driven.
  • Ensure the validity of data in our database and clean it for reuploading where required.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical field. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working in industry in a commercial setting. Experience with statistical data analysis and the ability to generate well-founded insights from potentially unstructured data.
  • Good working knowledge of Python and common numerical packages (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas etc.).
  • A solid understanding of and proficiency with SQL.
  • Knowledge of online testing methodologies such as AB Testing and experience designing and analysing online experiments.
  • Ability to communicate complex messages to a range of non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and be self starting and to be effective as part of a team.
  • Experience with BigQuery, data pipelines, ETL and Cloud Functions (Desirable).
  • Experience with Mixpanel, Looker, Tableau or similar Experience working in a tech start-up environment (Desirable).
